The Michigan Senate is voting on legislation that will allow the state’s 1,800 cities and counties to create their own patchwork of laws for minimum wage, work schedule, and sick leave.
SB 171 will come before the Senate this week, dismantling rules that create uniform standards for the state, and pitting community against community for businesses and workers.
SB 171 will make parts of the state “high-cost islands” and drive up costs to businesses and consumers.
SB 171 will kill jobs and drive businesses to other states.
